Just as promised, this is the first and the Singapore edition of the two-leg wedding, the second one was held in Suzhou, China, which you can read about here. I still remember Hans (the groom) and I exchanged several emails before I flew to Shanghai on some other matters and from there, I made a 45-minute detour to Suzhou to meet him and Si Wei. We met a a swanky Japanese restaurant in Suzhou Industrial Park on a chilly evening. I had my wife in tow for this trip, and we had a good time dining on fatty tuna done every way possible. We talked about wedding photography, the China economy, the state of affairs in Suzhou and of course their wedding preparations and possibility of hiring me as their wedding day photographer. We thanked them for their generosity and kind hospitality and made our way to the train station after the meeting. This has to be the longest, furthest and coldest prospects' meeting I have ever had.I would love to try it again, in different parts of the world, as long as there's good company and good food. :)
ps: true to the family and Chinese village "tradition", the father of the groom refused to accept any red packets at the banquet. "Just come and eat!"
