This is a story that spans a a few countries…..two generations and a single-minded will to stay together. Lilian found me through a friend’s recommendation (whose wedding I shot at the same venue...Raffles Hotel). Confirmation of my engagement as her wedding day photographer was made via emails. It was from those exchanges that I find her to be a very frank, upfront and decisive person. Perhaps it was (later that I found out) that she was single-handedly brought up by her mother, supported by her uncle and worked her way up to be where she is now. Always expressive and ready with a hearty laugh, she made me feel very comfortable in her presence. Phil is the quintessential quiet and thoughtful English gentleman with a self-deprecating sense of humour. His parents weren’t present at the wedding because of old age and not fit for long-distance travel, but he was surrounded by childhood friends and his son from a previous marriage, who all had made their way from UK. Yes. What’s more important is all who matter were there. No frills, no drama mama……instead there was a tear or two and plenty of laughters.
